In our May HOH newsletter there was a picture of the first dome home, our work crew from the states along with a host of Zimbabweans. Here is a picture of the first home with much of the thatching done. We wanted our homes to look like homes in the rural area, although ours are larger due to fact that we want to accommodate 10-12 orphans in each home.
Presently we are building the third home and thatching the second. We have run into some problems due to the political situation here. We also had a power surge that ruined the pump from our well. I have been collecting quotes for borehole (well) drilling as we want to drill 3 or 4 boreholes to insure that we have plenty of water.
We now have over 80 head of cattle along with 20 little calves. We hope to have a herd of 150-200 in two or three year’s time! This will be a good source of income and will also provide milk and meat for our homes and feeding projects.
I was thinking yesterday about these 4 men in Mark 2 who knocked a hole in the roof. It took a team effort to get the paralytic to Jesus so that he could be healed. We could not be ministering to 2,000 orphans without you and the 30 local churches who we partner with in over 50 projects. We are humbled by your support and thankful for your prayers.
In His solid grip and for welfare of children,
Glen and Patty
P.S. We have been here over 3 months already and hope to arrive in the states on June 25th!
