Hands of Hope partners with local churches to give financial aid for pre-schools and feed programs. Local churches are best suited to meet these needs since they can feed a larger group of people and are often flush with human resources to help run the programs. Today, more than 500 children are fed and cared for through Hands of Hope preschool and feeding programs.

This program started June 1, 2004 and is held at the Mhnodoro Presybeterian primary school in the Mhondoro area, 60 miles outside Harare. The school, which runs from 8:30 to 13:30 provides tea and a biscuit in the morning hours and lunch in the afternoon. Stella, Age 14
Stella has three brothers and one sister but lived only with her aunt when her parents died when she was only four years old. When she came to Westgate, she was grateful for the good food, nice clothes, and nice new friends.

Her favorite thing to do each day at the house is wash dishes with the other girls after supper. She longs to be a teacher for grade four because she likes little children. Her newly found joy is obvious in the hugs that she generously gives out to whoever is near.
